Sara Nance is a tax partner with over 20 years of experience. Working with some of the Firm’s largest clients, she develops tax strategies for private companies in Chandler, Scottsdale, Phoenix, and throughout Arizona. She helps partnerships, S corporations, and LLCs navigate local, state, and federal taxes with the goal of reducing tax liabilities. Collaboratively working with business owners, she educates clients about qualified business income (QBI), Section 179 deductions, bonus depreciation, and state pass-through entity tax. To avoid potential adverse tax outcomes, she conducts planning meetings throughout the year to discuss current and long-term business strategies that may influence cash flow, tax deferrals, and credits.
As part of the Firm’s international tax team, Sara offers guidance on U.S. income tax return preparation and filing for U.S. expatriates living and working abroad and foreign nationals residing in the U.S. She also advises Arizona companies on IC-DISCs, reducing the impact of double taxation, Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), and foreign account reporting.
Sara joined the Firm in 2008 and became a partner in 2016. Prior to joining the Firm, she worked with one of the largest CPA firms in the nation and lived in the Philippines for several years. In 2019, she was recognized as one of the most influential women in Arizona business.
As one of the first female partners, Sara understands the time and effort involved in pursuing a career in public accounting and balancing a family. She values open dialogue and building a culture of trust. Dedicated to supporting future leaders in the Firm, she encourages employees to build strong communication and technical skills, and create meaningful relationships with other professionals.
